Academic: Bachelor's degree with GPA 3.0/4.0; Graduate School policy: minimum 3.0/4.0 for credits earned at the bachelor's-granting institution, OR 3.0 for the last 90 graded quarter / 60 graded semester credits.
Prerequisites: Research experience; Minimum of 12 months (2,080 hours) of full-time research experience at the time of application. Broad backgrounds encouraged (neuroscience, biology, math, physics, computer science, or engineering). Calculus recommended but not required. Applicants with under 12 months may still be considered if the optional essay addresses outstanding research outputs (conferences, presentations, or publications).
IELTS: 7.0 overall; Program requires the Graduate School recommended Academic IELTS score (ELP Satisfied).
TOEFL: New scale: 4.5 overall | Old scale: 92 overall; Program requires the Graduate School recommended score for tests on or after January 21, 2026.; Program requires the Graduate School Policy 3.2 recommended score (ELP Satisfied) for non-native English speakers. Old scale applies to tests before January 21, 2026.
