Prerequisites: Relevant academic background; Educational background equivalent to an undergraduate major in one of the natural sciences or engineering.
IELTS: 7.0 overall (7.0 speaking); Department/recommended ELP Satisfied threshold under Policy 3.2.
TOEFL: New scale: 4.5 overall | Old scale: 92 overall; Graduate School recommended (ELP Satisfied) for tests on/after 21 Jan 2026.; Department uses Graduate School recommended (ELP Satisfied) scores. New TOEFL iBT 0–6 scale applies to tests on/after 21 Jan 2026.
GRE: Not considered; GRE will not be used and will not be accepted for the 2026–2027 academic year instructions; confirm policy for the following cycle.
