Published Score Requirements

Academic: Bachelor's degree; Or equivalent from an accredited institution. Required by matriculation.
Prerequisites: Relevant academic background; MSE:IPD requires an engineering background. Without engineering, willingness to take up to ~8 CUs of additional background coursework is expected. Four-semester (~24 month) curriculum cross-cutting engineering, design, and business.
IELTS: 7.5 overall; Recommended minimum (not a hard required cutoff). Same English proficiency policy as TOEFL. Report electronically to University of Pennsylvania School of Engineering and Applied Science.
TOEFL: 100 overall; Recommended minimum (not a hard required cutoff). Required for non-US international applicants when English is not the native language, unless waiver criteria are met. Institution code 2888. DET also accepted (recommended 135).
GRE: Optional; Optional for the current SEAS graduate application cycle; scores may be submitted (valid 5 years). Institution code 2888. No minimum score published.
