Academic: Bachelor's degree with GPA 3.0/4.0; Minimum GPA for MS admission; may be adjusted based on undergraduate institution and degree. Bachelor's degree in engineering from a recognized institution is required for the MSE. SUGS applicants must have 3.5+ GPA.
Prerequisites: Relevant academic background; Bachelor's in engineering required for MSE. Advanced courses related to the graduate curriculum may be weighted more heavily.
IELTS: 6.5 overall; Academic IELTS (including At Home). Required if prior study does not meet an English-proficiency exemption.
TOEFL: New scale: 4.5 overall | Old scale: 84 overall; Rackham/CoE minimum for admission consideration. New scale applies to tests from 21 Jan 2026; old scale applies before that date.
GRE: Not considered; GRE scores are not considered for IOE MS/MSE admissions.
