Academic: Bachelor's degree with GPA 3.0/4.0; UF Graduate School minimum 3.0 upper-division GPA; department uses holistic review.
Prerequisites: Coursework prerequisites; Applicants without a B.S. in BME must show readiness: 3 Calculus, 1 Differential Equations, 2 Physics with Calculus, 1 General Chemistry, 3 Biology/Biochemistry/Chemistry; engineering fundamentals from at least three of six areas (Statics/Dynamics, Thermodynamics/Fluid Flow, Circuits/Signals, Materials, Economics/Management, Statistics); plus Technical Communications and Programming (Java/MATLAB/C/C++). Missing prerequisites may be completed in year one (do not count toward the graduate degree).
IELTS: 6.5 overall; Accepted if English proficiency testing is required.
TOEFL: New scale: 4.5 overall (4.0 each component) | Old scale: 80 overall; UF Graduate School new-scale minimum effective Spring 2027.; UF Graduate School classic-scale minimum unless exempt.
GRE: Not considered; GRE is not required.
