Academic: Bachelor's degree with GPA 3.0/4.0; Graduate Division / department minimum cumulative undergraduate GPA 3.0/4.0. PhD applicants generally have at least 3.5 undergraduate GPA (typical profile, not a separate hard cutoff beyond 3.0).
Prerequisites: Relevant academic background; Bachelor's degree in some discipline of science, engineering, or mathematics. Fall admission only.
IELTS: 7.0 overall; Department / Graduate Division CS listing: Overall Band score of 7 when English proficiency is required.
TOEFL: New scale: 5.0 overall | Old scale: 100 overall; Department minimum for exams on or after 21 Jan 2026.; Department minimum (higher than university minimum) for exams before 21 Jan 2026. Required if native language is not English unless exemption criteria are met.
GRE: Not considered; Department does not require the GRE and is prohibited from reviewing GRE scores; do not upload GRE scores.
