Academic: Bachelor's degree with GPA 3.0/4.0; Excellent undergraduate record in addition to the university 3.0/4.0 minimum.
Prerequisites: Coursework prerequisites; At least one semester or quarter of upper-division quantum mechanics and of upper-division electricity and magnetism. AP courses do not fulfill this requirement.
IELTS: 7.0 overall
TOEFL: New scale: 4.5 overall | 87 overall; University minimum for exams taken on or after 21 Jan 2026.; University minimum for exams taken before 21 Jan 2026. UCLA does not accept MyBest scores.
GRE: Optional; Accepted but not required. Subject GRE not required.
