Academic: Bachelor's degree with GPA 3.0/4.0; Or equivalent if a letter-grade system is not used. UCLA Graduate Division minimum for regular admission.
Prerequisites: Quantitative background; Bachelor’s in Economics recommended but not required; strong economics background essential. Formal coursework in intermediate micro and macro theory and econometrics expected. Math preparation should include at least one year of probability and statistics and two years of calculus; linear algebra, matrix algebra, advanced probability, mathematical statistics, and real analysis highly recommended.
IELTS: 7.0 overall
TOEFL: New scale: 4.5 overall | 87 overall; University minimum for exams taken on or after 21 Jan 2026.; University minimum for exams taken before 21 Jan 2026. UCLA does not accept MyBest scores.
