Academic: Bachelor's degree with GPA 3.0/4.0; University minimum 3.0/4.0. Department expects at least 3.50 in junior and senior years and in any graduate study; not recorded as a hard cutoff.
Prerequisites: Relevant academic background; Bachelor’s with preparation to complete graduate-level computer science courses.
IELTS: 7.0 overall
TOEFL: New scale: 4.5 overall | 87 overall; University minimum for exams taken on or after 21 Jan 2026.; University minimum for exams taken before 21 Jan 2026. UCLA does not accept MyBest scores.
GRE: Not considered; 2026–2027 Graduate Division listing: GRE not required. Optional-GRE language on CS pages referred to the 2025–2026 cycle.
