Academic: Bachelor's degree with GPA 3.0/4.0; Graduate Studies minimum; applications below this are not considered. Median undergraduate GPA of Fall 2022 admits was 3.736 (not a cutoff).
Prerequisites: Coursework prerequisites; Undergraduate proficiency in three CS areas (grade B or higher expected): theory (e.g. ECS 120 or 122A), software (ECS 140A or 160), and operating systems/architecture (ECS 150 or 154B). Remaining proficiencies may be completed after admission before candidacy.
IELTS: 7.0 overall; Campus Graduate Studies minimum unless a program publishes a higher threshold. Required if prior degree was not taught solely in English.
TOEFL: 80 overall; Campus Graduate Studies minimum unless a program publishes a higher threshold. Required if prior degree was not taught solely in English.
GRE: Not considered; GRE scores are not required.
