Academic: Bachelor's degree with B+ average (76% at UBC); Department and G+PS: competitive admission; meeting minima does not guarantee admission.
Prerequisites: Relevant academic background; Strong preparation in computer science for a research MSc; applicants are ranked by research area fit.
IELTS: 7.0 overall (6.5 each component); Computer Science department requirement. Academic IELTS.
TOEFL: New scale: 5.0 overall (L5, R4.5, W4.5, S4) | Old scale: 100 overall (L22, R22, W21, S21); Computer Science department requirement (program page primary vs G+PS minimum). New scale applies to tests from 21 Jan 2026; old scale before that date.
GRE: Not considered; GRE is not required for UBC Computer Science graduate admissions.
