- Relevant subject at a recognised post-secondary institution; equivalence to the corresponding TU Wien bachelor assessed by the Dean of Academic Affairs. Subject gaps over 30 ECTS typically preclude admission; gaps up to 30 ECTS may require supplementary examinations.

- Basic knowledge and skills in linear algebra, analysis, statistics and programming. Explicitly suitable TU Wien bachelor backgrounds include Technical Physics, Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, Informatics, Computer Engineering, and Technical Mathematics. Supplementary exams up to 30 ECTS possible.

- CEFR B2 minimum for English-taught master's programmes. IELTS Academic or Academic Online.
