- Bachelor's degree (min. 180 ECTS)
- Relevant subject at a recognised post-secondary institution; equivalence to the corresponding TU Wien bachelor assessed by the Dean of Academic Affairs. Subject gaps over 30 ECTS typically preclude admission; gaps up to 30 ECTS may require supplementary examinations.

- German-taught programme: C1 CEFR required for degree admission; A2 CEFR (accepted certificate) required at application if German was not part of the school-leaving exam. Supplementary German exam via VWU may be prescribed.

- Eligible examples include Technical Physics, Technical Chemistry, Chemical and Process Engineering, Technical Mathematics, EEIT and Mechanical Engineering (TU Wien), plus selected physics programmes elsewhere. Supplementary exams up to 30 ECTS possible.
