Academic: Bachelor's degree with GPA 3.0/4.0; 3.0/4.0 required (3.25 preferred) for all master's programs.
Prerequisites: Coursework prerequisites; Most entering students have an engineering bachelor's or master's; business, management, or engineering technology may be acceptable if the following has been taken or is taken concurrently: two courses in engineering calculus; one linear algebra; one calculus-based probability and statistics; one computer programming.
IELTS: 6.0 overall; Texas A&M ELP admission minimum (2026–2027 Graduate Catalog). New iBT scale applies to tests taken on or after 21 Jan 2026; old iBT scale applies before that date.
TOEFL: New scale: 4.5 overall (4.0 each section) | Old scale: 80 overall; Texas A&M ELP admission minimum (2026–2027 Graduate Catalog). New iBT scale applies to tests taken on or after 21 Jan 2026; old iBT scale applies before that date.
GRE: Required (no minimum published); GRE mandatory except Master of Science in Engineering Management, the Industrial Data Analytics Certificate, and current/former Texas A&M engineering students. Waivers are not granted for other programs or applicants.
