Academic: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline; B.Eng., B.Tech., or B.Sc. in mechanical engineering or a related field (e.g. automotive, aerospace, energy, manufacturing, structural, industrial, or production engineering).
Prerequisites: Technical preparation; Fundamental knowledge expected across engineering (~75 ECTS: mechanics, mathematics, thermodynamics, computer science, CAD, physics, machine design) and specific topics (~38 ECTS: control engineering, fluid mechanics, FEM, engineering design, dynamics of machines/structural dynamics, manufacturing technology, simulation methods, numerical analysis).
Prerequisites: Professional experience; At least 6 months relevant work experience by application; minimum 12 months by enrollment.
IELTS: 6.0 overall; B2 English required. IELTS Academic 6.0 listed for this programme on DAAD International Programmes.
TOEFL: Old scale: 90 overall (R18, L17, S20, W17); B2 English required. Threshold listed for this programme on DAAD International Programmes (TOEFL iBT before 2026).
GRE: 145 Verbal Reasoning; 160 Quantitative Reasoning; 3 Analytical Writing; GRE General Test required unless exempt as a graduate of RWTH International Academy German Engineering College (GEC).
