Academic: Bachelor's degree with GPA 3.0/4.0; Minimum 3.0/4.0 GPA (A=4.0) from the most recently conferred undergraduate, graduate, or professional degree.
Prerequisites: Relevant academic background; Preparation for graduate study in mathematics; Ph.D. requirements include substantial graduate coursework, qualifying exams, a specialty exam, and a thesis.
IELTS: 6.5 overall (R6.5, L6.0, S6.0, W5.5); Academic Module minimum published on the Mathematics graduate apply page.
TOEFL: New scale: 4.0 overall (R4.0, L3.5, S3.5, W4.0) | Old scale: 80 overall (R19, L14, S18, W18); OGSPS minima for exams taken on or after 21 Jan 2026. Math department page still also restates the prior iBT section floors for the 120-point scale.; Department/OGSPS iBT minima on the Math apply page for exams on the 120-point scale. New scale applies to tests from 21 Jan 2026; old scale applies before that date.
