Statement of purpose

Academic: Master's-level GPA 3.0/4.0 expected; Expected minimum 3.00 GPA in master's-level coursework. Exceptions possible for special backgrounds. A master's in economics, agricultural economics, resource economics, or a closely related field is generally expected but not required.
Prerequisites: Quantitative background; Coursework in differential and integral calculus and linear algebra; master's-level economic theory; master's-level statistics/econometrics.
IELTS: 6.5 overall; Fox Graduate School GCAC-305 minimum. Required if prior degree was not taught in English.
TOEFL: New scale: 4.5 overall (Speaking 3.5) | Old scale: 80 overall (Speaking 19); EEFE how-to-apply page states iBT 80 with Speaking 20 (older scales also listed). Fox Graduate School GCAC-305 also publishes a new-scale floor of 4.5 overall with Speaking 3.5 for tests from 21 Jan 2026.
