Statement of purpose

125–250 words; should not duplicate the Academic Statement.

Recommendation letters x 2

ME MS FAQ: 2–3 letters required. TGS default is two; submit at least two.

Academic: Bachelor's degree; No published hard GPA cutoff for the MS. GPAs of admitted students are usually high and are evaluated in the context of the institution.
Prerequisites: Relevant academic background; Preparation for graduate mechanical engineering; prior academic performance, research and other professional experience, and overall potential are considered.
IELTS: 7.0 overall; Accepted in lieu of TOEFL.
TOEFL: 90 overall; Internet-based minimum published by the ME MS program. Paper 577 / computer 233 also listed. Required if native language is not English.
GRE: Not required; Department page states GRE is not required for the 2025–2026 cycle; 2026–2027 GRE policy is not yet restated on the MS pages.
