Academic: Bachelor's degree; No published hard GPA cutoff.
Prerequisites: Relevant academic background; Degrees in other engineering disciplines, chemistry, physics, or applied math are eligible; undergraduate chemical engineering courses may be needed before core graduate courses. Biological-science applicants interested in synthetic biology are directed to IBiS rather than this MS.
IELTS: 7.0 overall; MS minimum; PhD IELTS minimum is 7.5.
TOEFL: 90 overall; MS minimum; PhD minimum is 100.
GRE: Not considered; GRE scores will not be accepted for the 2026–2027 application cycle.
