Academic: Bachelor's degree with GPA 3.0/4.0; Graduate School minimum; most admitted students have higher GPAs, particularly in mathematics and statistics. Master's not required; apply directly to the PhD.
Prerequisites: Coursework prerequisites; Expected foundation in material covered by ST 701–705 core courses and a course comparable to MA 425 Mathematical Analysis I, even if a prior master's was earned elsewhere.
IELTS: 6.5 overall (6.5 each component); Graduate School Academic IELTS minimum; General IELTS not accepted.
TOEFL: New scale: 4.0 overall (4.0 each component) | Old scale: 80 overall (18 each component); Graduate School minimum for tests taken on or after 21 January 2026. Speaking 5 required for TA appointment.; Graduate School minimum for tests taken before 21 January 2026. Most successful Statistics applicants have at least 20 on each TOEFL section.
GRE: Not considered; GRE General and Subject Tests scores are NOT required for Statistics graduate programs including the PhD.
