Prerequisites: Relevant academic background; Most incoming students have mechanical or ocean engineering backgrounds; talented applicants from other engineering or science fields may apply. Expected undergraduate-level exposure to most core MechE disciplines (solid mechanics, dynamics, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, materials, control, design and manufacturing), plus familiarity with basic electric circuits and electromagnetic field theory.
IELTS: 7.0 overall; Academic IELTS preferred; General Training not accepted. Department does not offer ELP score waivers (US-school graduation waiver noted on the apply page).
