Academic: Bachelor's degree; BSc in Economics or equivalent with sufficient economics and quantitative preparation.
Prerequisites: Quantitative background; Economics, econometrics, and mathematics coursework at bachelor level.
IELTS: 6.5 overall (6.0 each component); IELTS Academic (paper or computer). Required if prior degree was not taught in English.
TOEFL: New scale: 5.0 overall (4.5 each component) | Old scale: 90 overall (20 each component); 2027-2028 intake uses the new 1-6 TOEFL scale per Leiden University language policy.; Applies to TOEFL iBT tests taken before 21 January 2026.
