Published Score Requirements

Academic: Upper second-class UK Bachelor's degree; Or international equivalent. In engineering, environmental science, technology, chemistry, physics, physical geography, biology, ecology, physical science or mathematics. Applicants with 2:2 considered case-by-case with relevant work experience or specialist competence.
Prerequisites: Quantitative background; Evidence of numerical modules in prior study (e.g. mathematics, statistics, data science, physics, theoretical engineering, ecology, analytical/physical chemistry, programming/computer science).
IELTS: 6.5 overall (6.0 each component); University of Leeds Masters standard / course page.
TOEFL: New scale: 4.5 overall (4 in reading, listening and speaking; 4.5 in writing) | Old scale: 88 overall (R20, L19, S22, W21); University of Leeds Masters equivalent to IELTS 6.5 (central international entry requirements). Applies to tests taken on or after 21 January 2026.; University of Leeds Masters equivalent to IELTS 6.5 (central international entry requirements). Applies to tests taken before 21 January 2026.
