Academic: First or upper second-class UK Bachelor's degree; Or international equivalent. Typical backgrounds include Economics, Business, or Finance.
Prerequisites: Quantitative background; Degree should include at least introductory microeconomics and macroeconomics, plus quantitative topics such as calculus, statistics, and linear algebra. Use the Quantitative Experience Statement to document advanced quantitative coursework if transcript titles are unclear.
IELTS: 7.0 overall (6.5 each component); Imperial higher requirement.
TOEFL: New scale: 5.0 overall (5.0 each component) | Old scale: 100 overall (22 each component); Imperial higher requirement. New scale applies to tests from 21 Jan 2026; old scale applies before that date.
GMAT: Optional; Not required but may strengthen the application. Suggested GMAT Focus overall percentile at least 55%, or GMAT Exam (10th Edition) at least 600. GRE Quantitative 159 also cited as helpful, especially for less quantitative backgrounds.
