Academic: Bachelor's degree; No hard GPA cutoff published.
Prerequisites: Relevant academic background; Evidence of commitment to health policy research and analytic/communication skills sufficient for doctoral training. Applicants choose a concentration at application (Economics for health economics training).
IELTS: 7.5 overall (Speaking 6.5); Required if applicable under GSAS English proficiency rules.
TOEFL: New scale: 5.0 overall (Speaking 4.5) | Old scale: 100 overall (Speaking 23); Minimum for tests taken on or after 21 January 2026.; Minimum for tests taken prior to 21 January 2026. New scale applies afterward.
GRE: Optional; GRE General or GMAT optional for Economics (and Decision Sciences, Methods for Policy Research, Political Analysis). Required for the Management concentration.
