Academic: Upper second-class UK Bachelor's degree; Or international equivalent (Glasgow states "2.1 Hons (or non-UK equivalent)").
Prerequisites: Relevant academic background; Social Sciences, Journalism, Law, History, or Economics. We may also accept degrees in Business or Humanities We may sometimes accept degrees at 2.2 Hons or non-UK equivalent. Work experience will also be considered in lieu of lower grades or unrelated subjects. Please upload a CV with your application for your work experience to be considered. If your degree is below 2:1 or in an unrelated subject, please upload a personal statement with your application.
IELTS: 6.5 overall (6.0 each component); Required if prior degree was not taught in English. Tests within 2 years 5 months of programme start; single test must meet overall and subtest scores.
TOEFL: From 21 Jan 2026: 92 overall (R22, L20, S23, W21) | Until 20 Jan 2026: 90 overall (R20, L19, S19, W21); Applies to TOEFL iBT tests taken from 21 January 2026. Glasgow publishes these totals on the programme English requirements section (still 0–120 style totals on the page).
