Academic: Bachelor's degree with GPA/GPE 5.0 (NZ 9-point scale); 240-point research: undergraduate degree in biomedical science (or equivalent) with GPE 5.0 in 75% of most advanced-level courses. 120-point: one year postgraduate study (e.g. BBiomedSc(Hons)/PGDipBiomedSc) with GPE 5.0.
Prerequisites: Relevant academic background; High-achieving science graduates in biomedical-related fields; 240-point includes coursework then thesis.
TOEFL: New scale: 4.5 overall (writing 4.5) | 90 overall (writing 21); University of Auckland postgraduate English page; 6-point scale replaced 120-point scale in January 2026.; University of Auckland postgraduate English page; old 120-point scale for tests within normal 2-year validity.
