Three references; academic or professional accepted on the MSc how-to-apply page. UAlberta graduating students are not required to provide references. Older supporting-documents page asked for at least two academic references for MSc/PhD.

From post-secondary institutions attended; English translation if needed. China applicants: Degree Certificate and Graduation Certificate both required. Official copies typically after admission.
