From post-secondary institutions attended; English translation if needed.

Academic: Bachelor's degree with GPA 3.3/4.0; Undergraduate degree with an average of 3.3 in the last two years of undergraduate or graduate work at UAlberta, or equivalent. Public Policy undergraduate degree also acceptable for MAPS.
Prerequisites: Policy background / work experience (course-based); Political Science or cognate coursework preferred (at least 30 POL S units if other major). For the MAPS course-based route, relevant work experience in the policy community is required.
IELTS: 6.5 overall (6.0 each band); Equivalent GPS-acceptable English test—confirm published IELTS minimum with the department.
TOEFL: New scale: 5 overall | Old scale: 100 overall; Department ELP. New scale applies to tests written on or after 21 Jan 2026.; Department ELP. Old scale applies to tests written before 21 Jan 2026.
