Academic: Bachelor's degree in Economics with GPA 3.5/4.0; Undergraduate degree in Economics with admission GPA at least 3.5 on last 60 units (or last two years), or equivalent.
Prerequisites: Economics and mathematics coursework; Completed coursework in calculus and linear algebra, plus advanced microeconomics, macroeconomics, and econometrics.
IELTS: 7.0 overall (6.5 each band); Department IELTS Academic minimum (6.5 each band).
TOEFL: New scale: 5 overall (4.5 each section) | Old scale: 92 overall (21 each section); Department ELP. New scale applies to tests written on or after 21 Jan 2026.; Department ELP. Old scale applies to tests written before 21 Jan 2026.
GRE: Required if most recent degree is non-Canadian; Applicants whose most recent degree is from a non-Canadian university must submit GRE (verbal, quantitative, analytical). No minimum score published.
