Statement of Motivation

One to two pages.

CV or resume

Chronological résumé or CV covering academic history, scholarly achievements, and employment.

Recommendation letters x 3

Three reference forms and letters uploaded by referees.

Research Proposal

Two to five pages with footnotes and bibliography.

Official transcript(s)

All post-secondary transcripts in official language with translation if needed.

Academic: JD or LLB with GPA 3.0/4.0; Undergraduate JD or LLB (or equivalent) with admission GPA at least 3.0 on last 60 units (or last two years), or equivalent.
Prerequisites: Prior law degree; JD, LLB, or equivalent university law degree from a recognized institution.
IELTS: 7.0 overall (6.0 each band); Faculty of Law IELTS Academic minimum.
TOEFL: New scale: 5 overall (4.5 each section) | Old scale: 100 overall (25 each section); Faculty of Law ELP. New scale applies to tests written on or after 21 Jan 2026.; Faculty of Law ELP. Old scale applies to tests written before 21 Jan 2026.
